Corporate Social Responsibility Programme

The English Language Department (JBI) has recently held a corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Badang, Bachok Kelantan on 17th September and 24th September 2020 respectively. This programme involves a total of 104 form 5 students from SMK Badang, who will be sitting for the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia examination scheduled for the first quarter of 2021. Apart from the objective to increase students' interest and motivation towards learning and mastering English; another main objective of this CSR programme was to provide opportunities for JBI academics to share expertise and abilities in various fields such as English, motivation and leadership while giving them the opportunity to polish and improve professionalism in an effort to contribute towards the development of the local community. On top of that, JBI academics also had the opportunity to conduct social research and innovate through this CSR approach which would not just benefit the existing but also future communities. For this project, the CSR programme focused more on the writing and communication aspects of the English Language. Among the activities carried out were Impromptu-speech, ACB Games, Paragraph Writing, Balloon Toss, Jumble Trouble and Hunt & Arrange. It is hoped that such programme will be able to further increase the confidence of the participants while the findings of the study conducted will be valuable in designing a better English teaching approach in the future.
